Dexter cattle are the smallest breed of cattle in America. They originated in Ireland from the Kerry breed.  They are known for being hardy, gentle, efficient, dual purpose cattle that produce more milk per pound than any breed and have the best tasting beef of any breed.

Cows mature between 36 and 42 inches at the shoulder, and around 750 pounds. Bulls mature between 38 and 44 inches at the shoulder, and around 1,000 pounds They are available in three colors: Black, Dun and Red.  Dexters are the ideal family cow and the best choice for small acreages.

We have owned many breeds of cattle, but the Dexters are our favorite breed.  It's hard not to fall in love with these quiet, friendly cattle.
